We empower our members by providing ongoing education that keeps them at the forefront of the built environment industry. This is just one of the reasons why BDQ members are recognised as knowledgeable industry experts. Our robust and relevant CPD program ensures members are educated and informed with up-to-date information about technical, professional and ethical standards.

CPD is compulsory for BDQ
members

BDQ members must complete a minimum number of CPD points every year to maintain their membership status:

  • Full Members – 20 CPD points (completed and logged by 31 March)
  • Affiliate Members – 10 CPD points (completed and logged by 31 March)
  • CPD is not a requirement for other BDQ Membership Classes

BDQ’s CPD Program recognises a wide range of formal and informal activities that are designed to guide, inform and expand your career.

Approved and recognised CPD activities include:

Education Activities

  • Units from a related Degree, Diploma, Cert IV or Cert III course

Technical & Business Training Activities

  • BDQ Masterclasses or Technical Meetings
  • Approved presentations, seminars, conferences and workshops
  • Site visits and study tours
  • BDQ branch meetings
  • Approved RTO courses

Professional Activities

  • Approved memberships with industry committees, associations and advisory groups
  • Presentations to industry, including lectures and workshops
  • Written responses to government legislation
  • Active role on a BDQ branch, or state or national committees
  • Mentoring members and student members

Informal Learning

  • Reviewing approved published material and documentaries
