The session will explore high-performance\, energy-efficient framing solutions for both residential and commercial applications\, designed to meet current and future energy requirements. \nVictoria Walker and David Walker from BERA will present 7-Star Design in Practice: Lessons from Thousands of Real-World Assessments. This session will share practical insights and key learnings from extensive experience under the new energy efficiency requirements\, offering guidance on how designers can successfully integrate 7-star outcomes into their projects with minimal disruption. \nPeter Latemore\, BDQ’s resident Queenslander design expert\, together with Peta Charles\, Queenslander planning specialist\, will present an engaging session on the intricacies of the classic Queenslander vernacular building.  The session will explore how Queenslanders are structurally unique\, why these differences matter for designers\, and how to better approach renovation and design work on these iconic homes.
