Central Queensland Branch Meeting
BDQ invites members to attend the upcoming Central Queensland Branch Meeting, featuring a presentation by Bernie San Diego from our Industry Partner, Alspec.
Bernie will present on Australian Standards AS 2047:2014 and Typical Installations, providing a practical overview of the importance of compliant installation practices for aluminium windows and doors within Australian construction projects.
The session will explore typical installation methods for both residential and commercial applications, including connections into timber framing, steel framing, masonry, concrete substrates, sub-frames, and reveal installations. Bernie will also cover fixing methods, packers, anchor selection, expansion tolerances, and common installation practices used throughout the industry.
Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of compliant installation principles and the critical relationship between AS 2047-tested systems and correct site installation practices.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity to connect with fellow members and industry partners, exchange insights, and engage in valuable networking within the local building and design community.
