The 2026 Building Design Queensland (BDQ) State Design Awards recognise design excellence and highlight the value of the building design profession to both industry and the wider community.

Award categories reflect the breadth of contemporary practice and the diverse expertise of BDQ members.

Judging criteria balance modern consumer expectations with enduring fundamentals: aesthetics, functionality, buildability, durability, and value. Criteria are practical, measurable, and structured to support objective assessment.

BDQ members are encouraged to submit their strongest projects for recognition and promotional opportunities.

The 2026 State Design Awards celebrate excellence in building design and the impact of the profession.
