Wide Bay Bundaberg Branch Meeting
BDQ’s Bundaberg Branch invites members to join us for our upcoming branch meeting, featuring presentations from Industry Partners BERA and Alspec.
David Walker, General Manager and Section J Consultant, and Tori Walker from BERA will deliver an Energy Efficiency Update for Building Designers, giving a practical overview of Queensland’s recent residential energy efficiency changes and the major revisions to commercial requirements arriving with NCC 2025 in May 2027.
Bernie San Diego, Specification Manager QLD at Alspec, will then host The Alspec Design Lab, an interactive workshop where members bring their own design challenges and work through them together using real samples, technical insights and practical aluminium solutions.
What members can expect to learn:
- The key residential energy efficiency changes now in effect in Queensland, including eased requirements for suspended floors and smaller homes
- New guidance for alterations and additions, and what’s coming for commercial projects under NCC 2025
- How to meet energy efficiency requirements without major disruption to your projects
- How the right system, glass and design approach can resolve challenges around access, weather performance, acoustics, wind loads and glazing
- The opportunity to view product samples and have your own project questions answered on the day
